Maureen McGuinness of Maureen’s Shop in Stoneybatter is a legendary character in Dublin. Last summer Maureen celebrated 40 years in business. A true diamond in the rough, her pessimistic attitude is well known in by all the locals. Known for speaking her mind and not entirely friendly demeanour.

Maureen’s been in business through good and bad times, which can’t help but foster a healthy respect by neighbours and locals. This has been an illustrations I had wanted to to do for years.

Maureen closed her doors for the last time over this summer, 2021.
